Short description: The phonology of the prosodic word (PW) and clitics across languages, and their properties in Portuguese. Phonetic and phonological phenomena that identity the PW and phonological clitics as distinct from morpho-syntactic units. Establishing the relevant grammar information to build the PW: interface phenomena with morphology and syntax. Applications of this phonological knowledge to (i) language teaching, (ii) the acquisition of phonology, (iii) diagnosis, evaluation and speech therapy.
