Student Travel Grants

With the support of a number of funding bodies, a pool of travel grants will be available to students whose work has been accepted for presentation at Speech Prosody 2022 (up to 300€ for students traveling within Europe, and up to 500€ for students traveling from outside Europe). To be eligible, the following conditions must be met:

1. Be the sole author or first and presenting author of an accepted oral or poster presentation
2. Demonstrate that no (or little) financial support is available from the institution the student is affiliated to or other funding body to cover registration and travel expenses (i.e., a letter from the supervisor or the institution may be required)

To apply, please send a message to speechprosody2022@letras.ulisboa.pt with the subject ‘Student travel grant application’ and include the information requested in 1 and 2 above.

The following institutions and companies are funding Speech Prosody 2022 student travel grants: Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, Centro de Linguística da Universidade de Lisboa/Laboratório de Fonética e Fonologia, the journal Languages, LBASS – the Luso-Brazilian Association of Speech Sciences, and the Organization of Speech Prosody 2022.

The journal Languages offers one grant of 300€ for a student coming from Europe or a grant of 500€ for a student coming from other regions of the world.

LBASS – the Luso-Brazilian Association of Speech Sciences offers a grant of 500€. To be eligible to apply for this specific grant, students need to meet the additional conditions here. This information should be included in the message to be sent to speechprosody2022@letras.ulisboa.pt.
